Creole Townhouse

Arguably the most iconic architectural style on New Orleans, the Creole Townhouse is two to four-story structures with brick or stucco fa├žade and a steeply pitched, side-gabled roof with several roof dormers. These homes also feature courtyards, thick walls, arcades, and wrought iron balconies at second and sometimes third levels. Built after the Great New Orleans Fire (1788), Creole Townhouses and comprise a large portion of the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny.
